Representatives of the Department of Cooperatives present the Certificate of Registration to the Danpa Adanfo Co-operative Block Producers’ Society Limited at the GCALS office in Accra.
On 30 June 2026, the Department of Co-operatives, Accra Metro, officially presented the Certificate of Registration to the Danpa Adanfo Co-operative Block Producers’ Society Limited, granting the cooperative full legal recognition after successfully completing a six-month registration process.
This milestone represents a significant step toward formalising Ghana’s informal block production sector by creating a legally recognised platform through which small-scale block producers can strengthen governance, improve production standards, enhance market access, reduce operational costs through collective action, and build more sustainable livelihoods.
The registration of the cooperative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen the capacity of informal block producers and promote responsible, high-quality production practices within Ghana’s construction industry. By working collectively, members of the cooperative will be better positioned to access technical support, improve operational efficiency, pursue quality assurance initiatives, and engage with structured market opportunities.
The achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the SPVO Certification Project consortium, comprising Green Construct ALS (GCALS) and People’s Dialogue on Human Settlements (PD) in Ghana, together with The Rock Group (TRG), Habitat for Humanity International, and Spaak Circular Solutions B.V. in the Netherlands. The project is supported by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana.
Green Construct ALS congratulates the leadership and members of the Danpa Adanfo Co-operative Block Producers’ Society Limited on reaching this important milestone.
